About us

Grass Roots West Hartford is a local organization founded over five years ago to educate our community on the benefits of natural, pesticide-free, lawn care.

Our mission has evolved to include the restoration and creation of safe, healthy and beautiful outdoor spaces for all to enjoy! Some of our successes include:

• Partnering with West Hartford Public works to design a pilot program at Whiting Lane athletic fields and Fernridge Park baseball field using natural land care products since 2016.

• Providing free lawn care workshops in partnership with Farmington River Watershed Association (www.frwa.org)

• Promoting Pollinator Pathways (www.pollinator-pathway.org) to expand native habitats which are needed to boost local insects and wildlife.
